The filtering elements used in tests with the Pagani piezocone are made of a special sintered bronze alloy and are designed to "filter" the soil during the measurement of pore pressure (U).
To ensure optimal results, it is recommended to replace them after each test to avoid clogging issues, especially in the presence of plastic clays.
These elements are paired with paper gaskets to ensure the best adhesion during tightening with the parts in contact with the piezocone.
The experience gained over more than twenty years of research and development on piezocones has allowed achieving an optimal balance between porosity and roughness, in combination with the silicone fluids with which they are usually saturated.
