The guideline is as follows:
- X-ring: must be replaced after every test.
- O-ring: replacement after every test is recommended; however, replacement depends on the degree of wear and whether soil is present inside it. In any case, after every test it must be disassembled, cleaned, lubricated again with silicone-based grease, and reassembled.
Why is this recommended?
This is not about providing a greater number of seals, but rather about adopting good practices to obtain more accurate test results that are not affected by friction. A worn or soil-contaminated seal can generate friction that may compromise sensor readings.
