Both models are designed to meet the most complex requirements of CPTu and S-CPTu testing.
Compared to the previous model (TGAS-08), the TGAS-12 features significant innovations, particularly regarding size and weight, while maintaining the same monitor size (12"):
- 42% weight reduction
- 52% volume reduction
An additional important difference concerns the monitor, which has changed from resistive to capacitive, making it significantly more versatile in rainy conditions. In fact, in the previous model, being mounted internally, there was a risk of forming a "water lens" in case of rain. The current model, being flush-mounted, avoids this problem by allowing water to completely slide off.
Another significant change concerns the connectors, which have been replaced from traditional screw connectors to push-pull connectors.
Regarding the software, this is a chapter on its own: the software has been completely redesigned to make it easier for the operator to use compared to the previous version available on the TGAS-08.
